SHARJAH – Yogi Group rode on a brilliant all-round performance by Ambey Parwatkar to beat Afridi CC by 48 runs in a semifinal match of the second Al Dhaid Ramadan T-20 Tournament, organized by the Sharjah Cricket Council, for the Conmix Cup at Al Dhaid Cricket Village. The ace all-rounder first scored 26 off 23 balls with four fours and then snared two wickets for just six runs as Yogi Group completed a comprehensive victory with 27 balls to spare.
Yogi Group, batting first, posted a decent 128 for eight in the allotted 20 overs. Prabodhan Kanse top-scored with 31 off 24 balls with three fours while Mohammed Ajmal chipped in with a useful 25 off 19 balls.
Haji Irfan bowled well for Afridi CC, taking four wickets for 26 runs while Mohammed Khurram picked up two for 29 runs. Afridi CC, in reply, collapsed to 80 all out in 15.3 overs with Salman Faris and Nasir doing most of the damage, taking three wickets each. Ambey Parwatkar hastened the end of the Afridi CC innings, grabbing two quick wickets. Mohammed Khurram (21 off 15 balls) and Mohammed Shehzad (20 off 19 balls) were the only two batsmen who could offer any resistance to the Yogi Group attack.
