SHARJAH – Al Ittihad, spearheaded by a fine knock of 46 by Shamroz, defeated SCC Academy by 13 runs in the second Al Dhaid Ramadan T-20 tournament, organized by the Sharjah Cricket Council, for the Conmix Cup at Al Dhaid Cricket Village.In another match, Al Mawsim Engineering rode on a brilliant all-round performance by Abdul Ghafoor to get the better of Ibsons Group by 100 runs.
Al Ittihad, batting first, scored 138 before being all out in the 19th overs. Shamroz led the batting charge with a tidy innings. He was well supported by Rajas who made 34. Justin was the most successful bowler, taking four wickets for 25 runs.
SCC Academy, in reply, could manage 125 despite a fluent knock of 60 off 53 balls by Abdullah. Rohit (26) was the other main scorer. For Al Ittihad, Basheer and Sher Afzal, bowled well, taking three wickets each while Asif snared two for 24 to hasten the end of the SCC Academy innings. In the other match, Al Mawsim Engineering called the shots almost at will against Ibsons Group. Batting first, they posted a huge 215 for six in the allotted 20 overs and then bowled out Ibsons Group for 115 in the 17th over.
Al Mawsim Engineering had built their innings around Ibrahim Mohammed who made 83 off 41 balls with eight fours and five sixes. Abdul Shakoor (45 off 43 balls) and Abdul Ghafoor (40 off 26 balls) also joined the party. Abdul Ghafoor rounded off a fine all-round performance when he took four wickets for 16 runs to help his side bowled Ibsons Group for modest total. Umer (three for 28) and Zuhaib (two for 18) further added to the woes of a struggling Ibsons Group side.
