SHARJAH -- Al Futtaim Panatech rode on a good batting performance by Shahid Farooq and Abbas Ali Khan to beat Gyan Steel by seven runs in the second Al Dhaid Ramadan T-20 tournament, organized by the Sharjah Cricket Council, for the Conmix Cup at Al Dhaid Cricket Village.
Shahid and Abbas made 35 each as Al Futtaim Panatech, batting first, scored 153 before being all out on the last ball of their innings. Shahid hit two fours and three sixes in his 19-ball innings while Abbas took 24 balls for his 35 which included four fours and one six. Mubashir bowled well for Gyan Steel, taking three wickets for nine runs while Harris snared two for 22. Gyan Steel, in reply, batted with the determination, but just fell short of the target. Haroon Rashid (48 off 35 balls with five fours) and Mubashir (40 off 26 balls with one four and two sixes) kept their team’s hopes alive with some fine batting, but others failed to rise to the occasion.
