SHARJAH – Interface Transworld, spearheaded by a brilliant all-round performance by Jagrit Anand, defeated Eurocon Alubond by 16 runs in the 23rd Sharjah Ramadan Tournament for the Interface Transworld Cup at the Sharjah stadium on Thursday night.The tournament, organised by the Sharjah Cricket Council, is supported by 106.2 HUM FM and CBFS as associate sponsors. Playing with authority and conviction, Jagrit first cracked 77 off 48 balls with eight fours and three sixes and then snared two wickets for 28 runs to help his side seal a well-deserved victory.
Interface, batting first, knocked up an impressive 172 for seven in the allotted 25 overs. Besides Jagrit who dominated the batting, Fahad (26 off 16 balls with two fours and three sixes) and Ibthisham (25) chipped in with useful contributions. Eurocon Alubond CC, in reply, were bowled out for 156 in the 25th over. Mujtaba (30 off 25 balls), Safdar (26 off as many balls) and Vikrant Shetty (21 off 24 balls) were the main scorers. Tushar Pant snared three wickets for 27 runs.
